Who We Help & How Neurofeedback Works

HOW DOES IT WORK?

In Neurofeedback we use powerful amplifier that allows high-quality data acquisition for the training.

We attach electrode sensors to the cap which we put on the individual’s head. A conductive paste is used to receive the brain wave activity readings which are sent through the amplifier to the computer where it can be chartered and read to identify the patterns.

The software traces EEG into a graph so that the provider can see, analyse and program a desired treatment plan for the individual.

The brain’s real-time data is displayed on a screen often through visuals and sounds. The brain receives feedback and adjusts its pattern to improve focus, relaxation, or emotional control, leading to better self-regulation over time.

WHAT CONDITIONS DO WE HELP WITH

Neurofeedback can help if you, your child, or a loved one has been diagnosed with or is struggling with one of these conditions:

  • Sensitivity to stress
  • Emotional tension, instability, immaturity
  • ADHD, ADD, Autism
  • Anxiety, restlessness
  • Burnout
  • Desire to develop creativity
  • Learning disorders (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia)
  • Concentration, attention and memory disorders
  • Distraction and excessive daydreaming
  • Problems with reading and writing
  • Speech Disorders
  • Desire to improve performance in areas requiring focus
  • Sleep disorders
  • Headaches
  • Difficulty with decision making and organising
  • Lack of motivation
  • Low self-esteem and shyness

Regardless of whether certain areas of your brain are overactive or underactive, Neurofeedback can encourage the brain to self-regulate and consequently produce more helpful brainwave patterns, change thinking and behaviour.

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM NEUROFEEDBACK TRAINING?

Neurofeedback training can benefit a wide range of individuals because it helps the brain learn to regulate its own activity.
While results vary by person, research and clinical practice commonly show benefits for the following groups:

Children

We help the children Improve their brain function.

Children are heavily stimulated with technological progress which leads to psychological regression, making them less inclined to use their minds in everyday life, which results in an alarmingly low level of functional potential. Their interest shifts quickly from one thing to the other. Lots of children struggle with keeping the attention span, handling strong emotions, fully concentrating and completing tasks. At Train a Brain we help the children to regulate their brainwave patterns to become calmer, self-controlled, more resilient and confident. We work on improving focus, enhancing emotional regulation and boosting the cognitive abilities. A number of studies have also shown that Neurofeedback is very effective in managing symptoms of ADHD, ADD and autism. Neurofeedback can be a great addition to current therapies.

School and University

Training brain to overcome challenges and achieve goals.

Pupils and Students are usually struggling to cope with the difficulties of entering the adulthood as well as with grasping significant amount of coursework and academic responsibilities. Neurofeedback is effective with improving concentration, enhancing memory, reducing stress and anxiety. It can help pupils and students to keep up with the demands and to boost academic performance by increasing mental clarity and develop better emotional regulation.

Adults

Breaking free from negative moods and weaknesses.

Around 20 million adults suffer from negative moods. Everybody is well tangled in everyday life struggles, from the school run, through daily tasks at school, university, home and at work, to finding time for themselves. If anyone feels overwhelmed, worn down, has difficulties with organising day to day activities, Neurofeedback will be the way of braking free from it, and will be a great help to become a peaceful mum, a more engaged dad, a better worker and a happier person.

Elderly

Improving memory and slowing effects of brain aging

Seniors can benefit from Neurofeedback with problems like declining memory, forgetfulness, mixing up your words. By training brain, the elderly can experience improved memory, enhanced cognitive function, reduced anxiety, improved sleep, and overall sense of mental clarity and relaxation.

Performance

Working towards excellence.

The athletes and a lot of other professions, in which precision, quick decision making and reaction time are the keys to the success, might benefit from using the Neurofeedback. Tennis players, golfers, drivers, musicians, writers, chess players, to name a few, with Neurofeedback help, might want to achieve greater resilience, sustained focus, and higher levels of personal or professional performance.

Business

Maximising focus, potential and productivity.

Corporate executives and business professionals can benefit from Neurofeedback by improving focus, productivity, enhancing stress management, boosting cognitive performance, increasing emotional resilience, fostering creativity, improving decision-making, and stopping feeling burnt out. It can also help with maintaining work-life balance and optimizing overall mental well-being in high-pressure environments.

Neurofeedback Process
Step by Step

Before you come to the office, you will be asked to fill in a health questionnaire.

1. Free
Consultation

We are happy to guide you through the entire process and answer any questions you may have along the way, ensuring you feel informed and supported from the very beginning. During our conversations, we’ll also ask you a series of questions to get to know you better—your goals, your lifestyle, your experiences, and your current health situation—so that we can understand your needs in depth and offer the most suitable and personalised support.

2. Initial
Assessment

The initial visit will last 60 minutes. That will include introduction of the equipment, QEEG Brain Map and some initial introductory training. After that we will thoroughly go through the QEEG report and analyse the gathered data. We will then arrange for another meeting or a telephone conversation (depending on the client’s preference) to go through our findings, offer the most appropriate training protocol and decide the next steps.

3. Neurofeedback Brain Training

Once a protocol is established, a series of brain training sessions will begin. Each session typically lasts between 30 to 60 minutes, though the total number of sessions may vary depending on your individual needs and the specific treatment plan designed for you. During Neurofeedback training, you will be guided and supported by a certified trainer, while sensors carefully measure and monitor your brain activity.

4. Further
Sessions

Depending on your progress, our observations, and your individual condition or requirements, we may recommend additional sessions to help you achieve the best possible results. Some long-standing or more complex conditions may require a longer course of care, often ranging from 30 to 60 sessions, in order to create meaningful and lasting improvement.

5. Maintenance Booster Sessions

Once the initial training has been completed, most people do not require any additional sessions. The improvements are generally stable, as the brain learns to maintain its new patterns on its own. However, in some cases, major life events or highly stressful situations can temporarily disrupt this balance. If that happens, only a few follow-up sessions are typically needed to help the brain re-regulate and restore your sense of stability and well-being.

Understanding Your Brian Language

Are anxiety and stress a challenge in life? Is it hard to relax, and are thoughts constantly circling around the head? Is it hard to make decisions or stay concentrated at a goal? Let us tell you about a fascinating technology that can bring relief and help stay sharp — it is NEUROFEEDBACK.

BRAIN WAVES

In EEG Neurofeedback training, the activity of our brain, which generates electromagnetic waves, is used. This activity is recorded using an EEG device. The brain produces several types of electromagnetic waves; each brainwave produces different kind of activity:
  • Delta waves (1-4 Hz) – sleepy, drowsy
  • Theta waves (4-8 Hz) – distraction, daydreaming, visualization
  • Alpha waves (8-12 Hz) – relaxation, creativity, fantasizing
  • SMR waves (12-15 Hz) – calm, external focus
  • Beta waves (15-18 Hz) – active attention
  • High Beta waves (18-30 Hz) – muscle tension, anxiety, fear
